Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 1.17%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Generali (MI:GASI), which rose 8.21% or 1.17 points to trade at 15.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) added 5.91% or 0.565 points to end at 10.120 and Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) was up 5.58% or 0.450 points to 8.520 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP), which fell 4.42% or 0.106 points to trade at 2.292 at the close. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) declined 1.57% or 0.41 points to end at 25.73 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) was down 1.07% or 0.0090 points to 0.8310.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 187 to 142 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Generali (MI:GASI) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 8.21% or 1.17 to 15.42. Shares in Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.58% or 0.450 to 8.520.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.25% or 0.66 to $53.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.83% or 0.46 to hit $55.69 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.25% or 3.05 to trade at $1212.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0753, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8581.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 100.09.
