Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Travel & Leisure and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.99% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which rose 7.69% or 1.12 points to trade at 15.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Saipem (MI:SPMI) added 6.46% or 0.0256 points to end at 0.4220 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) was up 2.90% or 0.290 points to 10.280 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which fell 1.76% or 0.40 points to trade at 22.35 at the close. Recordati (MI:RECI) declined 0.90% or 0.29 points to end at 31.81 and Terna (MI:TRN) was down 0.69% or 0.032 points to 4.590.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 228 to 122 and 18 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.84% or 0.88 to $48.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.63% or 0.83 to hit $51.73 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 0.95 to trade at $1254.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.0844, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.8681.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 99.19.
