Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Travel & Leisure and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.50% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which rose 6.16% or 0.162 points to trade at 2.792 at the close. Meanwhile, Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) added 2.63% or 0.108 points to end at 4.220 and Recordati (MI:RECI) was up 2.53% or 0.90 points to 36.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Prysmian (MI:PRY), which fell 2.83% or 0.73 points to trade at 25.07 at the close. Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) declined 2.07% or 0.51 points to end at 24.10 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was down 1.25% or 0.18 points to 14.23.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 196 to 166 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Recordati (MI:RECI) rose to all time highs; rising 2.53% or 0.90 to 36.49.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.38% or 0.18 to $47.65 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $50.67 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 3.77 to trade at $1227.97 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.0918, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.8485.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 99.16.
