Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Travel & Leisure and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.09% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which rose 9.33% or 0.905 points to trade at 10.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) added 3.45% or 0.75 points to end at 22.48 and Exor NV (MI:EXOR) was up 2.93% or 1.45 points to 50.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which fell 2.01% or 0.056 points to trade at 2.736 at the close. Italgas SpA (MI:IG) declined 1.90% or 0.08 points to end at 4.13 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) was down 1.71% or 0.2700 points to 15.5500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 184 to 170 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) rose to all time highs; up 3.45% or 0.75 to 22.48. Shares in Exor NV (MI:EXOR) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.93% or 1.45 to 50.95.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.36% or 0.18 to $49.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $52.50 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.92 to trade at $1265.28 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.0871, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.8471.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 99.13.
