Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 1.36%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI), which rose 6.03% or 1.09 points to trade at 19.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) added 5.42% or 2.31 points to end at 44.96 and Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII) was up 4.48% or 0.22 points to 5.17 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA (BIT:TRN), which fell 2.02% or 0.17 points to trade at 8.44 at the close. Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) declined 1.77% or 0.79 points to end at 43.85 and Italgas SpA (BIT:IG) was down 1.76% or 0.13 points to 6.97.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 407 to 129 and 36 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.70% or 1.72 to $61.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 2.45% or 1.65 to hit $65.79 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 3.54% or 120.90 to trade at $3,298.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.58% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.69% at 99.38.
