Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.62% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG), which rose 6.00% or 0.67 points to trade at 11.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) added 2.86% or 1.82 points to end at 65.44 and Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) was up 2.70% or 0.18 points to 6.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS), which fell 2.63% or 2.80 points to trade at 103.75 at the close. Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) declined 2.14% or 0.12 points to end at 5.57 and Azimut Holding SpA (BIT:AZMT) was down 1.91% or 0.49 points to 25.13.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 286 to 225 and 44 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.70% or 0.18 to 6.70.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.68% or 0.50 to $73.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.42% or 0.32 to hit $76.17 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.71 to trade at $2,795.31 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 107.75.
