Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Metals, Real Estate and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 0.51%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index declined 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:BRTI), which rose 2.89% or 9.95 points to trade at 349.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) added 1.61% or 64.45 points to end at 4057.40 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (NS:KTKM) was up 0.97% or 15.80 points to 1643.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF), which fell 6.10% or 25.25 points to trade at 390.10 at the close. Vedanta Ltd (NS:VDAN) declined 5.69% or 9.45 points to end at 157.25 and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:ZEE) was down 4.64% or 13.30 points to 273.55.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which rose 1.61% to 4065.35, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:BRTI) which was up 1.41% to settle at 348.80 and ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which gained 1.02% to close at 252.90.
The worst performers were Vedanta Ltd (BO:VDAN) which was down 5.39% to 157.20 in late trade, Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which lost 4.41% to settle at 48.80 and Tata Steel Ltd (BO:TISC) which was down 4.40% to 359.55 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1038 to 522 and 72 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1479 fell and 932 advanced, while 138 ended unchanged.
Shares in Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF) fell to 3-years lows; falling 6.10% or 25.25 to 390.10. Shares in Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.61% or 64.45 to 4057.40. Shares in Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (NS:KTKM) rose to all time highs; rising 0.97% or 15.80 to 1643.50. Shares in Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) rose to all time highs; up 1.61% or 64.55 to 4065.35. Shares in Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.41% or 2.25 to 48.80.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.39% to 16.1150.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.13% or 17.15 to $1498.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.19% or 0.67 to hit $55.74 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.51% or 0.95 to trade at $61.79 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.48% to 70.610, while EUR/INR fell 0.43% to 77.1485.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 98.885.
