Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Capital Goods and Auto sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 2.19%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 2.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NSE:INBK), which rose 6.67% or 46.00 points to trade at 735.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Shriram Finance Ltd. (NSE:SHMF) added 5.17% or 33.05 points to end at 671.85 and Larsen & Toubro Ltd (NSE:LART) was up 4.62% or 144.05 points to 3,260.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ITC Ltd (NSE:ITC), which fell 0.27% or 1.15 points to trade at 420.40 at the close. Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (NSE:HLL) added 0.08% or 1.85 points to end at 2,368.00 and Nestle India Ltd (NSE:NEST) was up 0.24% or 5.60 points to 2,367.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which rose 6.70% to 734.90, Tata Motors Ltd (BO:TAMO) which was up 4.61% to settle at 622.50 and Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:LART) which gained 4.50% to close at 3,257.25.
The worst performers were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which was down 0.28% to 2,360.00 in late trade, ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which lost 0.28% to settle at 420.60 and Nestle India Ltd (BO:NEST) which was up 0.07% to 2,362.55 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 2129 to 284 and 30 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 3159 rose and 772 declined, while 165 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 20.19% to 16.05.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.39% or 12.49 to $3,238.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.36% or 0.22 to hit $61.31 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.34% or 0.22 to trade at $64.66 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.35% to 85.72, while EUR/INR fell 0.64% to 97.29.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 99.43.
