Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Auto, Fast Moving Consumer Goods and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 1.33%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 1.44%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:ZEE), which rose 8.32% or 28.75 points to trade at 372.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) added 5.95% or 184.95 points to end at 3301.10 and Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) was up 4.75% or 361.55 points to 7992.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lupin Ltd (NS:LUPN), which fell 3.72% or 29.10 points to trade at 753.15 at the close. Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB) declined 2.65% or 3.65 points to end at 134.15 and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (NS:HPCL) was down 2.47% or 6.95 points to 274.70.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which rose 6.09% to 3301.20, Hero MotoCorp Ltd (BO:HROM) which was up 4.26% to settle at 2623.50 and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which gained 3.53% to close at 6707.20.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 2.36% to 134.55 in late trade, Vedanta Ltd (BO:VDAN) which lost 1.44% to settle at 160.80 and Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which was down 1.42% to 723.80 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 889 to 680 and 70 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1342 rose and 1081 declined, while 135 ended unchanged.

Shares in Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.75% or 361.55 to 7992.95. Shares in Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) rose to all time highs; rising 6.09% or 189.40 to 3301.20. Shares in Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.36% or 3.25 to 134.55.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.04% to 28.0750.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.07% or 0.95 to $1285.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.03% or 0.65 to hit $63.52 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.44 to trade at $73.06 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.09% to 70.135, while EUR/INR fell 0.01% to 78.3285.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 97.722.
