Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, IT and Green Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 gained 0.04% to hit a new 1-month high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were UltraTech Cement Ltd (NSE:ULTC), which rose 3.35% or 370.00 points to trade at 11,421.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NSE:BJFS) added 2.69% or 50.90 points to end at 1,945.05 and Trent Ltd (NSE:TREN) was up 2.58% or 130.35 points to 5,185.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NSE:INBK), which fell 4.84% or 32.40 points to trade at 637.05 at the close. Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NSE:REDY) declined 2.68% or 32.40 points to end at 1,177.90 and Adani Enterprises Ltd (NSE:ADEL) was down 2.04% or 48.35 points to 2,320.35.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:ULTC) which rose 3.32% to 11,417.85, Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which was up 2.16% to settle at 1,935.65 and Infosys Ltd (BO:INFY) which gained 1.71% to close at 1,619.35.
The worst performers were Eternal Ltd (BO:ZOMT) which was down 5.57% to 210.30 in late trade, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which lost 5.09% to settle at 635.10 and Adani Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd (BO:APSE) which was down 1.89% to 1,177.85 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1893 to 443 and 111 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2863 fell and 1029 advanced, while 113 ended unchanged.
Shares in IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NSE:INBK) fell to 3-years lows; falling 4.84% or 32.40 to 637.05. Shares in IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.09% or 34.05 to 635.10.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 0.73% to 13.80.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.35% or 10.79 to $3,054.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.55% or 0.38 to hit $69.49 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.38 to trade at $72.75 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.17% to 85.71, while EUR/INR rose 0.32% to 92.72.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 103.84.
