Asia stocks dither amid Trump tariff fears, mixed China inflation
Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA), which rose 2.50% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Orilina Properties AEEAP (AT:ORILINAr) added 1.30% or 0.01 points to end at 0.78 and HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings SA (AT:HEPr) was up 1.16% or 0.09 points to 7.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Papoutsanis Industrial and Commercial of Consumer Goods SA (AT:PSALr), which fell 3.61% or 0.11 points to trade at 2.94 at the close. AS Company SA (AT:ASCr) declined 3.50% or 0.13 points to end at 3.58 and Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) was down 3.38% or 0.67 points to 19.14.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 102 to 19 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 2.50% or 0.06 to 2.46.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.70% or 57.75 to $3,460.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 6.67% or 4.54 to hit $72.58 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 6.52% or 4.52 to trade at $73.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 98.21.
