European stock market: UBS raises conviction as Q2 earnings season approaches
Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr), which rose 1.89% or 0.06 points to trade at 3.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Orilina Properties AEEAP (AT:ORILINAr) added 1.30% or 0.01 points to end at 0.78 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 1.11% or 0.03 points to 2.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr), which fell 3.17% or 1.00 points to trade at 30.50 at the close. Avax SA (AT:AVAr) declined 3.15% or 0.07 points to end at 2.00 and Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) was down 2.80% or 1.25 points to 43.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 88 to 39 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr) rose to all time highs; rising 1.89% or 0.06 to 3.23.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 2.62% or 86.99 to $3,402.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.47% or 2.11 to hit $62.90 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 3.33% or 2.09 to trade at $64.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.78% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.64% at 98.63.
