Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.67% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT:BOCHGRr), which rose 5.12% or 0.26 points to trade at 5.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr) added 3.47% or 0.42 points to end at 12.54 and Metlen Energy & Metals AE (AT:MYTr) was up 2.11% or 0.76 points to 36.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ekter (AT:EKTr), which fell 2.23% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.19 at the close. Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) declined 2.08% or 0.70 points to end at 32.90 and Ideal Group SA (AT:IDEr) was down 1.50% or 0.09 points to 5.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 73 to 54 and 14 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.38% or 11.05 to $2,911.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.34% or 0.24 to hit $70.95 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.12 to trade at $74.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 106.68.
