Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Banking and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.63% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr), which rose 3.77% or 0.40 points to trade at 11.00 at the close. Meanwhile, J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) added 3.63% or 0.05 points to end at 1.54 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) was up 3.08% or 0.40 points to 13.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which fell 6.58% or 1.00 points to trade at 14.20 at the close. Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) declined 2.12% or 0.20 points to end at 9.25 and Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr) was down 1.53% or 0.20 points to 12.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 75 to 45 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.58% or 1.00 to 14.20. Shares in Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) rose to all time highs; up 3.08% or 0.40 to 13.40.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 4.40 to $2,689.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.35% or 1.64 to hit $68.05 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.11% or 1.54 to trade at $71.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 100.36.
