STOXX Europe 600: UBS weighs in as index hits its 2025 price target
Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Papoutsanis Industrial and Commercial of Consumer Goods SA (AT:PSALr), which rose 4.35% or 0.12 points to trade at 2.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) added 4.32% or 1.90 points to end at 45.85 and Metlen Energy & Metals AE (AT:MYTr) was up 2.86% or 1.26 points to 45.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr), which fell 2.41% or 0.42 points to trade at 16.98 at the close. Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) declined 2.01% or 0.03 points to end at 1.27 and Austriacard Holdings AG (AT:ACAGr) was down 1.87% or 0.10 points to 5.26.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 76 to 46 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Papoutsanis Industrial and Commercial of Consumer Goods SA (AT:PSALr) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 4.35% or 0.12 to 2.88. Shares in Austriacard Holdings AG (AT:ACAGr) fell to all time lows; losing 1.87% or 0.10 to 5.26.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.83% or 28.12 to $3,405.22 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.17% or 0.11 to hit $63.52 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.14 to trade at $65.49 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.55% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 98.68.
