Trump announces 50% tariff on copper, effective August 1
Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which rose 2.78% or 0.40 points to trade at 14.80 at the close. Meanwhile, National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) added 2.43% or 0.25 points to end at 10.52 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was up 2.03% or 0.01 points to 0.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr), which fell 2.01% or 0.13 points to trade at 6.33 at the close. Athens Water (AT:EYDr) declined 1.52% or 0.09 points to end at 5.83 and Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) was down 1.50% or 0.01 points to 0.79.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 62 to 61 and 23 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.23% or 7.93 to $3,391.27 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.35% or 0.85 to hit $63.70 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.22% or 0.79 to trade at $65.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 98.57.
