Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA), which rose 3.81% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Ekter (AT:EKTr) added 2.88% or 0.06 points to end at 2.14 and Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) was up 2.60% or 0.44 points to 17.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr), which fell 1.80% or 0.15 points to trade at 8.20 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 1.49% or 0.01 points to end at 0.36 and Metlen Energy & Metals AE (AT:MYTr) was down 0.98% or 0.36 points to 36.34.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 74 to 49 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.60% or 0.44 to 17.39.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.65% or 19.10 to $2,955.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.58% or 0.42 to hit $72.52 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.47 to trade at $76.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 106.47.
