Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which rose 12.88% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.170 at the close. Meanwhile, Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) added 5.33% or 0.0024 points to end at 0.0474 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) was up 4.04% or 1.0350 points to 26.6250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr), which fell 8.45% or 0.086 points to trade at 0.932 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 7.96% or 0.078 points to end at 0.902 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was down 4.58% or 0.200 points to 4.170.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 53 to 42 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) fell to 52-week lows; losing 8.45% or 0.086 to 0.932. Shares in Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) fell to 5-year lows; falling 7.96% or 0.078 to 0.902. Shares in Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.58% or 0.200 to 4.170.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.80% or 9.80 to $1218.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.41% or 0.21 to hit $51.84 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.54% or 0.33 to trade at $60.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.1286, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8861.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 97.312.
