Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Chemicals and Construction sectors led shares higher while losses in the Food & Beverages, Utilities and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.58%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.09%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Linde PLC (DE:LINI), which rose 3.01% or 5.100 points to trade at 174.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 2.70% or 0.170 points to end at 6.464 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) was up 2.63% or 3.94 points to 153.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which fell 1.88% or 0.520 points to trade at 27.130 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) declined 1.74% or 1.850 points to end at 104.700 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) was down 1.59% or 0.140 points to 8.680.
The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 4.12% to 68.800, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was up 3.85% to settle at 4.992 and Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which gained 3.55% to close at 22.740.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 4.21% to 102.500 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which lost 2.61% to settle at 97.2000 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 2.26% to 159.900 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 4.12% to 68.800, Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was up 2.49% to settle at 25.060 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which gained 2.38% to close at 49.040.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 4.21% to 102.500 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which lost 2.61% to settle at 97.200 and Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which was down 2.47% to 8.8320 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 419 to 236 and 98 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.35% to 17.51.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.74% or 11.15 to $1501.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.64% or 0.86 to hit $53.45 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.25% or 0.73 to trade at $59.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1019, while EUR/GBP fell 1.18% to 0.8879.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 98.363.
