Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Utilities and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares higher while losses in the Food & Beverages, Transportation & Logistics and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.55%, while the MDAX index added 0.56%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG), which rose 3.26% or 3.23 points to trade at 102.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 2.08% or 1.380 points to end at 67.660 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 2.05% or 0.148 points to 7.363 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 4.93% or 7.800 points to trade at 150.500 at the close. Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) declined 2.98% or 0.430 points to end at 13.995 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) was down 1.19% or 1.300 points to 107.950.
The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 3.48% to 74.240, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was up 3.07% to settle at 5.700 and RTL Group SA (DE:RRTL) which gained 2.69% to close at 45.820.
The worst performers were Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 3.38% to 29.120 in late trade, Rocket Internet (DE:RKET) which lost 1.97% to settle at 23.92 and K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 1.84% to 14.430 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 7.25% to 10.280, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which was up 5.27% to settle at 54.900 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which gained 4.36% to close at 46.400.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 4.93% to 150.500 in late trade, Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which lost 3.38% to settle at 29.120 and United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was down 1.40% to 33.000 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 425 to 243 and 91 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.97% to 14.90.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.51% or 7.75 to $1508.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.81% or 0.47 to hit $58.51 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.56% or 0.99 to trade at $64.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1061, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8822.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 97.803.
