Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Insurance, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Retail, Technology and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.24%, while the MDAX index gained 0.40%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.37%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which rose 4.97% or 4.23 points to trade at 89.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 4.94% or 0.676 points to end at 14.374 and Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) was up 2.46% or 2.78 points to 115.66 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG), which fell 5.23% or 3.00 points to trade at 54.34 at the close. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) declined 5.20% or 24.200 points to end at 441.400 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was down 3.26% or 6.20 points to 184.25.

The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which rose 5.55% to 7.397, Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was up 3.05% to settle at 62.220 and Hannover Rueck SE (DE:HNRGn) which gained 2.93% to close at 170.20.

The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was down 7.28% to 49.830 in late trade, Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which lost 3.09% to settle at 36.400 and LEG Immobilien AG (DE:LEGn) which was down 2.19% to 109.550 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 1.60% to 16.16, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which was up 1.55% to settle at 17.350 and Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which gained 1.38% to close at 30.06.

The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was down 7.28% to 49.830 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which lost 5.20% to settle at 441.400 and Nagarro SE (DE:NA9n) which was down 2.77% to 140.50 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 345 to 340 and 88 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) rose to 3-years highs; rising 4.94% or 0.676 to 14.374. Shares in LEG Immobilien AG (DE:LEGn) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.19% or 2.450 to 109.550.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.04% to 22.59.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.32% or 5.75 to $1827.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.06% or 1.88 to hit $89.44 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.08% or 1.93 to trade at $90.76 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1417, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8429.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 95.623.
