Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Food & Beverages and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Construction and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.94%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.38%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 5.94% or 1.51 points to trade at 26.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) added 3.08% or 1.09 points to end at 36.31 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) was up 2.53% or 2.85 points to 115.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn), which fell 5.81% or 16.60 points to trade at 268.90 at the close. Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn) declined 3.35% or 6.26 points to end at 180.68 and Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) was down 3.33% or 4.64 points to 134.86.
The top performers on the MDAX were K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which rose 7.37% to 13.69, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was up 6.76% to settle at 13.10 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which gained 6.38% to close at 2.50.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 5.38% to 7.28 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which lost 3.13% to settle at 22.32 and AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G) which was down 2.93% to 17.21 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which rose 3.54% to 14.64, Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was up 3.08% to settle at 36.31 and IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which gained 2.98% to close at 27.65.
The worst performers were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 3.22% to 30.68 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which lost 2.85% to settle at 15.66 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which was down 2.26% to 224.80 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 319 to 302 and 24 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.04% to 21.14.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.65% or 84.09 to $3,261.59 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.90% or 0.54 to hit $60.61 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.85% or 0.54 to trade at $63.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.15% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.48% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.74% at 99.86.
