Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Software and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Retail, Construction and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.49%, while the MDAX index lost 1.08%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG), which rose 6.12% or 6.28 points to trade at 108.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) added 2.08% or 1.08 points to end at 53.06 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) was up 1.90% or 1.10 points to 59.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 10.61% or 3.94 points to trade at 33.21 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) declined 7.71% or 2.59 points to end at 30.99 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was down 6.97% or 10.30 points to 137.55.
The top performers on the MDAX were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which rose 1.60% to 66.65, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was up 0.87% to settle at 3.00 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 0.86% to close at 70.52.
The worst performers were Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was down 7.20% to 35.34 in late trade, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:PSMGn) which lost 4.41% to settle at 10.62 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 3.17% to 23.55 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which rose 2.08% to 53.06, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which was up 1.85% to settle at 95.22 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which gained 1.77% to close at 66.30.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 5.48% to 12.93 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 3.17% to settle at 23.55 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 2.56% to 36.58 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 452 to 244 and 70 ended unchanged.
Shares in Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) fell to 52-week lows; down 10.61% or 3.94 to 33.21. Shares in Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.97% or 10.30 to 137.55. Shares in Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) rose to 3-years highs; rising 0.87% or 0.03 to 3.00. Shares in Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.56% or 0.96 to 36.58.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.57% to 31.59.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.44% or 8.20 to $1,877.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.23% or 0.25 to hit $107.56 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.07 to trade at $110.21 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.98% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP rose 1.28% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.19% at 103.81.
