Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Basic Resources and Retail sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer & Cyclical, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.46%, while the MDAX index added 0.13%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 1.30% or 3.40 points to trade at 264.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) added 0.59% or 0.380 points to end at 65.060 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 0.42% or 1.10 points to 260.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which fell 1.90% or 5.30 points to trade at 273.90 at the close. Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) declined 1.10% or 1.15 points to end at 103.20 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) was down 1.03% or 0.095 points to 9.127.
The top performers on the MDAX were Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which rose 14.91% to 44.24, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was up 10.86% to settle at 114.300 and Rocket Internet (DE:RKET) which gained 3.77% to close at 22.58.
The worst performers were Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which was down 4.30% to 10.580 in late trade, Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which lost 2.33% to settle at 26.780 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 2.15% to 61.06 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which rose 10.86% to 114.300, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was up 2.94% to settle at 122.400 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 2.71% to close at 20.880.
The worst performers were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was down 3.50% to 23.680 in late trade, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which lost 2.32% to settle at 20.18 and Isra Vision O.N. (DE:ISRG) which was down 2.13% to 40.46 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 401 to 283 and 72 ended unchanged.

Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) rose to all time highs; gaining 10.86% or 11.200 to 114.300. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) rose to all time highs; up 10.86% or 11.200 to 114.300. Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.94% or 3.500 to 122.400.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.73% to 15.72.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.01% or 0.15 to $1464.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.19% or 0.11 to hit $59.09 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.09 to trade at $64.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1059, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8410.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 97.650.
