Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Food & Beverages and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Telecoms and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.20%, while the MDAX index added 0.68%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DPWGn), which rose 1.88% or 0.70 points to trade at 38.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) added 1.68% or 0.47 points to end at 28.51 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 1.60% or 0.39 points to 24.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG), which fell 9.41% or 3.11 points to trade at 29.94 at the close. Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) declined 2.03% or 2.85 points to end at 137.75 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was down 1.97% or 0.55 points to 27.33.
The top performers on the MDAX were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which rose 12.69% to 11.72, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 7.85% to settle at 41.61 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which gained 7.14% to close at 9.60.
The worst performers were Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which was down 3.01% to 644.00 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which lost 2.51% to settle at 2.80 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which was down 1.82% to 189.10 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 5.56% to 25.23, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was up 4.66% to settle at 14.36 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which gained 3.78% to close at 22.52.
The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was down 2.51% to 2.80 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which lost 1.92% to settle at 47.96 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which was down 1.58% to 17.42 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 384 to 283 and 99 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.38% to 29.65.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.57% or 9.75 to $1,700.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.72% or 0.73 to hit $100.01 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.53% or 0.57 to trade at $106.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.45% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 106.95.
