Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Retail, Technology and Media sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 3.80% to hit a new 3-months low, while the MDAX index declined 4.17%, and the TecDAX index fell 4.57%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG), which fell 0.64% or 0.580 points to trade at 89.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) fell 0.94% or 0.72 points to end at 76.24 and E.ON SE (DE:EONGn) was down 1.19% or 0.144 points to 11.920 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 7.86% or 5.86 points to trade at 68.74 at the close. HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) declined 7.60% or 4.36 points to end at 53.00 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was down 6.26% or 0.718 points to 10.760.

The top performers on the MDAX were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which rose 0.30% to 52.900, Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:AOXG) which was unchanged 0.00% to settle at 19.500 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which lost 0.31% to close at 2.568.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 16.71% to 12.48 in late trade, AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which lost 10.31% to settle at 14.22 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was down 9.33% to 123.00 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which fell 0.31% to 2.568, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was down 1.37% to settle at 33.070 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which lost 1.37% to close at 23.110.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 16.71% to 12.48 in late trade, Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which lost 10.88% to settle at 26.20 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 10.04% to 25.485 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 715 to 36 and 28 ended unchanged.

Shares in Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) fell to 52-week lows; falling 7.86% or 5.86 to 68.74. Shares in HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) fell to 52-week lows; down 7.60% or 4.36 to 53.00. Shares in AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) fell to all time lows; falling 10.31% or 1.63 to 14.22. Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) fell to 5-year lows; losing 10.04% or 2.845 to 25.485.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 29.85% to 30.45 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.49% or 8.95 to $1840.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.86% or 1.58 to hit $83.56 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.71% or 1.49 to trade at $85.59 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1332, while EUR/GBP rose 0.57% to 0.8411.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 95.865.
