Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Insurance, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 1.23%, while the MDAX index declined 0.31%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which rose 1.43% or 1.55 points to trade at 109.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 0.28% or 0.16 points to end at 57.04 and Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) was up 0.12% or 0.050 points to 42.560 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 3.21% or 0.292 points to trade at 8.815 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) declined 3.13% or 4.53 points to end at 140.25 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) was down 3.01% or 0.275 points to 8.859.
The top performers on the MDAX were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which rose 9.41% to 37.90, HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which was up 6.07% to settle at 61.15 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which gained 1.86% to close at 42.975.
The worst performers were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 4.53% to 7.634 in late trade, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which lost 3.35% to settle at 50.45 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 2.62% to 2.267 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which rose 1.86% to 42.975, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was up 1.38% to settle at 176.600 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which gained 1.22% to close at 58.200.
The worst performers were Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 2.74% to 20.200 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which lost 2.62% to settle at 2.267 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was down 2.49% to 16.863 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 502 to 172 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) rose to all time highs; rising 6.07% or 3.50 to 61.15.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 9.74% to 24.67.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.66% or 12.15 to $1849.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $46.81 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.09 to trade at $50.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.2110, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.9159.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 90.980.
