Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Software sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.70%, while the MDAX index declined 0.43%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Brenntag AG (DE:BNRGn), which rose 0.76% or 0.600 points to trade at 79.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) added 0.74% or 0.420 points to end at 57.200 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) was up 0.58% or 3.400 points to 591.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn), which fell 1.97% or 1.370 points to trade at 68.230 at the close. Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) declined 1.63% or 0.268 points to end at 16.218 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was down 1.44% or 0.162 points to 11.112.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which rose 2.01% to 90.200, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was up 1.52% to settle at 53.440 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which gained 1.26% to close at 40.040.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 3.94% to 11.81 in late trade, AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which lost 3.43% to settle at 19.57 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 2.76% to 17.820 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which rose 2.04% to 40.00, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was up 0.58% to settle at 591.600 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which gained 0.50% to close at 70.650.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 3.94% to 11.81 in late trade, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which lost 3.23% to settle at 14.66 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 2.76% to 17.820 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 419 to 271 and 69 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) rose to all time highs; rising 2.01% or 1.780 to 90.200. Shares in AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) fell to all time lows; falling 3.43% or 0.69 to 19.57. Shares in Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) rose to all time highs; up 2.04% or 0.80 to 40.00.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 23.64% to 18.51.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.35% or 6.25 to $1804.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.47% or 0.36 to hit $76.34 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.27% or 0.21 to trade at $78.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1340, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8410.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 95.930.
