Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Software, Construction and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.53%, while the MDAX index lost 0.26%, and the TecDAX index fell 1.16%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 10.53% or 6.08 points to trade at 63.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) added 1.39% or 0.39 points to end at 28.50 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) was up 1.38% or 0.46 points to 33.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG), which fell 5.78% or 2.55 points to trade at 41.58 at the close. Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) declined 2.83% or 3.98 points to end at 136.50 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) was down 2.73% or 6.35 points to 226.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 9.90% to 6.40, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was up 4.06% to settle at 20.62 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 3.23% to close at 15.98.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 2.80% to 23.60 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 2.16% to settle at 65.60 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 1.91% to 56.60 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 9.90% to 6.40, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 3.23% to settle at 15.98 and IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which gained 1.08% to close at 28.20.
The worst performers were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which was down 2.73% to 226.00 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 2.34% to settle at 209.00 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 2.16% to 65.60 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 340 to 272 and 37 ended unchanged.
Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) rose to all time highs; gaining 10.53% or 6.08 to 63.80.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.04% to 21.14.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.05% or 35.10 to $3,311.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 3.20% or 2.00 to hit $64.47 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.93% or 1.93 to trade at $67.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 99.25.
