Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.46%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Software, Retail and Media sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.46%, while the MDAX index fell 0.49%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.91%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn), which rose 1.94% or 0.315 points to trade at 16.530 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 1.52% or 0.160 points to end at 10.660 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) was up 1.32% or 0.960 points to 73.940 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 3.80% or 4.10 points to trade at 103.80 at the close. SAP SE (DE:SAPG) declined 2.70% or 2.860 points to end at 103.180 and Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) was down 2.19% or 1.580 points to 70.500.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which rose 4.66% to 23.340, Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was up 2.27% to settle at 20.375 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which gained 1.73% to close at 5.519.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 3.34% to 28.640 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) which lost 2.22% to settle at 23.760 and Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which was down 2.13% to 61.900 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which rose 3.33% to 26.400, Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was up 2.27% to settle at 20.375 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which gained 1.94% to close at 16.530.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 3.34% to 28.640 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which lost 3.07% to settle at 59.950 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which was down 2.70% to 103.180 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 356 to 330 and 71 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.94% or 0.315 to 16.530. Shares in Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.32% or 0.960 to 73.940. Shares in Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.66% or 1.040 to 23.340. Shares in Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.27% or 0.453 to 20.375. Shares in Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.27% or 0.453 to 20.375. Shares in Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.94% or 0.315 to 16.530.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.84% to 20.02 a new 52-week low.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.03% or 0.45 to $1723.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.59% or 0.39 to hit $65.63 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.63% or 0.44 to trade at $69.19 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1953, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8588.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 91.685.
