Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.02%, while the MDAX index fell 0.23%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 2.44% or 0.350 points to trade at 14.700 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) added 2.24% or 0.255 points to end at 11.640 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 1.21% or 2.20 points to 183.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which fell 1.93% or 0.425 points to trade at 21.600 at the close. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) declined 1.85% or 1.580 points to end at 83.640 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) was down 1.74% or 0.430 points to 24.245.
The top performers on the MDAX were Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which rose 3.12% to 44.26, Metro AG (DE:MEOG) which was up 1.57% to settle at 10.380 and Suedzucker AG (DE:SZUG) which gained 1.32% to close at 18.490.
The worst performers were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which was down 2.21% to 39.380 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which lost 2.18% to settle at 116.65 and Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was down 2.06% to 111.700 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which rose 3.65% to 137.75, Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which was up 1.71% to settle at 5.950 and Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which gained 1.38% to close at 33.40.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 3.49% to 21.600 in late trade, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which lost 2.54% to settle at 10.920 and S&T AG (F:SANT1) which was down 1.97% to 18.879 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 417 to 344 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metro AG (DE:MEOG) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.57% or 0.160 to 10.380.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.67% to 11.69.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.08% or 1.01 to $1275.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.88% or 0.94 to hit $50.92 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.31% or 1.29 to trade at $57.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1705, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8915.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 93.75.
