Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Software, Technology and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 3.00%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.31%, and the TecDAX index added 3.33%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG), which rose 10.62% or 23.20 points to trade at 241.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) added 4.50% or 0.94 points to end at 21.95 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) was up 4.36% or 9.60 points to 230.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which fell 2.98% or 42.50 points to trade at 1,383.50 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) declined 2.42% or 0.38 points to end at 15.15 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) was down 1.61% or 0.55 points to 33.59.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 5.62% to 7.22, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 5.37% to settle at 24.90 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which gained 4.75% to close at 17.19.
The worst performers were RENK Group AG (ETR:R3NK) which was down 5.54% to 47.48 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 3.83% to settle at 62.75 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was down 2.32% to 71.70 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which rose 10.62% to 241.70, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was up 6.68% to settle at 31.92 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 5.71% to close at 36.30.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 3.83% to 62.75 in late trade, IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which lost 1.73% to settle at 28.40 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 0.76% to 58.80 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 471 to 151 and 28 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.04% to 21.14.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 3.53% or 120.59 to $3,298.81 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.73% or 1.74 to hit $61.93 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.48% or 1.67 to trade at $65.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.71% at 99.39.
