Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Chemicals and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 2.76%, while the MDAX index added 2.21%, and the TecDAX index climbed 2.16%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p), which rose 5.60% or 3.58 points to trade at 67.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) added 5.00% or 3.14 points to end at 65.94 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p) was up 4.70% or 5.94 points to 132.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn), which fell 0.37% or 0.60 points to trade at 159.60 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) added 0.14% or 0.14 points to end at 97.98 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) was up 0.19% or 0.06 points to 31.85.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which rose 6.93% to 6.13, Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was up 5.82% to settle at 9.36 and Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which gained 4.95% to close at 114.40.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 1.93% to 36.17 in late trade, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which lost 0.90% to settle at 55.10 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 0.33% to 24.50 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 4.13% to 23.95, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 3.65% to settle at 131.90 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which gained 3.61% to close at 48.52.
The worst performers were Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which was down 2.93% to 18.22 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 1.79% to settle at 41.80 and Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 1.51% to 98.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 530 to 158 and 77 ended unchanged.
Shares in Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) fell to all time lows; losing 2.93% or 0.55 to 18.22. Shares in Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.51% or 1.50 to 98.10.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.27% to 31.12.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.11% or 1.80 to $1,704.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.76% or 2.64 to hit $98.42 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.66% or 2.64 to trade at $101.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.76% to 1.01, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.45% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 107.81.
