Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Retail and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 2.61%, while the MDAX index climbed 3.23%, and the TecDAX index gained 2.50%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 5.84% or 79.50 points to trade at 1,440.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 5.81% or 3.12 points to end at 56.86 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) was up 5.23% or 1.01 points to 20.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p), which fell 0.72% or 0.48 points to trade at 66.02 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) added 0.24% or 0.04 points to end at 14.51 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 0.87% or 0.19 points to 21.95.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 7.99% to 5.78, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 7.36% to settle at 7.81 and AUTO1 Group SE (ETR:AG1G) which gained 6.68% to close at 18.36.
The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 0.09% to 53.00 in late trade, K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which gained 0.44% to settle at 13.75 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was up 0.99% to 13.23 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 7.99% to 5.78, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 5.20% to settle at 56.60 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which gained 5.04% to close at 16.45.
The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was up 0.36% to 22.08 in late trade, IONOS Group SE (ETR:IOSn) which gained 0.72% to settle at 27.85 and PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which was up 1.69% to 14.42 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 564 to 73 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.72% or 0.48 to 66.02. Shares in Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) fell to 52-week lows; losing 0.09% or 0.05 to 53.00.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.04% to 21.14.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.79% or 25.69 to $3,218.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.83% or 0.51 to hit $60.99 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.54% or 0.35 to trade at $64.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 99.37.
