Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 2.36% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 1.33%, and the TecDAX index added 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 5.16% or 7.50 points to trade at 152.95 at the close. Meanwhile, BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) added 4.54% or 2.250 points to end at 51.780 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 4.43% or 0.345 points to 8.135 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 0.67% or 0.64 points to trade at 94.32 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 0.27% or 0.16 points to end at 59.44 and Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) was up 0.43% or 1.10 points to 259.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which rose 6.23% to 36.840, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was up 6.13% to settle at 10.0000 and K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which gained 5.84% to close at 6.520.
The worst performers were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 3.73% to 62.00 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 2.26% to settle at 44.14 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 1.43% to 106.850 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which rose 3.52% to 40.600, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was up 3.29% to settle at 22.890 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which gained 2.92% to close at 24.700.
The worst performers were LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which was down 2.28% to 19.740 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 2.26% to settle at 44.14 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 1.43% to 106.850 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 489 to 191 and 71 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.70% to 24.31.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.33% or 6.40 to $1940.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.45% or 0.19 to hit $42.53 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.20% or 0.54 to trade at $45.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.1802, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.9029.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 93.227.
