Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Transportation & Logistics and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.66%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.06%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 4.23% or 1.28 points to trade at 31.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) added 3.21% or 0.43 points to end at 13.81 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 3.05% or 0.38 points to 12.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p), which fell 0.64% or 0.50 points to trade at 78.10 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) declined 0.29% or 0.04 points to end at 11.99 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was down 0.13% or 0.04 points to 31.63.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 9.13% to 6.91, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 4.66% to settle at 19.09 and Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which gained 3.26% to close at 42.80.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 3.12% to 5.75 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 0.79% to settle at 13.77 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 0.55% to 14.40 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 4.66% to 19.09, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was up 4.59% to settle at 15.73 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 4.23% to close at 31.66.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 3.12% to 5.75 in late trade, Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which lost 1.39% to settle at 56.70 and PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which was down 0.99% to 14.04 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 481 to 137 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.39% or 0.80 to 56.70.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.67% to 15.47.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.69% or 17.00 to $2,496.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.83% or 1.41 to hit $78.39 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.87% or 1.49 to trade at $81.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.49% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 102.72.
