Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Insurance and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.52%, while the MDAX index added 0.37%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.43%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 9.62% or 111.00 points to trade at 1,265.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 8.97% or 4.76 points to end at 57.84 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) was up 5.08% or 11.60 points to 239.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p), which fell 3.55% or 2.76 points to trade at 74.98 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) declined 2.99% or 1.70 points to end at 55.18 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) was down 2.71% or 0.64 points to 23.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which rose 6.41% to 80.40, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 4.72% to settle at 67.70 and Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which gained 4.50% to close at 69.60.
The worst performers were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was down 19.92% to 22.75 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which lost 4.66% to settle at 24.98 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was down 3.48% to 38.01 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 7.54% to 37.80, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was up 5.08% to settle at 239.90 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 4.72% to close at 67.70.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 1.79% to 15.37 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 1.16% to settle at 76.50 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 0.75% to 34.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 380 to 238 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) rose to all time highs; up 9.62% or 111.00 to 1,265.00. Shares in Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 19.92% or 5.66 to 22.75.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.83% to 22.81 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.84% or 24.60 to $2,945.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.25% or 1.49 to hit $67.74 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.98% or 1.38 to trade at $70.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 103.46.
