Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Software, Consumer & Cyclical and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.04%, while the MDAX index gained 0.48%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which rose 3.30% or 8.90 points to trade at 278.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) added 2.69% or 3.700 points to end at 141.500 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) was up 2.16% or 2.240 points to 105.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn), which fell 0.63% or 0.056 points to trade at 8.820 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) declined 0.32% or 0.090 points to end at 27.650 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was down 0.16% or 0.010 points to 6.294.
The top performers on the MDAX were Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which rose 3.58% to 11.285, Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which was up 2.92% to settle at 67.000 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 2.83% to close at 20.000.
The worst performers were Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 1.93% to 34.98 in late trade, Hochtief AG (DE:HOTG) which lost 1.25% to settle at 102.30 and Uniper SE (DE:UN01) which was down 1.09% to 27.140 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 2.83% to 20.000, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 2.71% to settle at 11.010 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which gained 2.69% to close at 141.500.
The worst performers were Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 1.93% to 34.98 in late trade, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which lost 0.35% to settle at 44.940 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was unchanged 0.00% to 29.440 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 434 to 223 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 29.440.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.60% to 18.50.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.49% or 7.35 to $1511.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.59% or 0.31 to hit $52.94 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.64% or 0.37 to trade at $58.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.0977, while EUR/GBP rose 0.30% to 0.8990.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 98.803.
