Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.90%, while the MDAX index added 0.79%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which rose 3.97% or 3.98 points to trade at 104.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) added 2.89% or 3.850 points to end at 137.100 and Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was up 2.84% or 2.09 points to 75.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SAP SE (DE:SAPG), which fell 2.14% or 2.620 points to trade at 119.840 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) declined 1.46% or 0.310 points to end at 20.930 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG) was down 1.30% or 0.880 points to 66.820.
The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which rose 6.08% to 11.838, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was up 4.63% to settle at 25.740 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which gained 2.99% to close at 5.232.
The worst performers were CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which was down 3.01% to 58.050 in late trade, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which lost 2.71% to settle at 12.5650 and Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which was down 1.14% to 50.260 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 4.63% to 25.740, Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was up 3.69% to settle at 21.920 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which gained 2.89% to close at 137.100.
The worst performers were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was down 2.51% to 19.400 in late trade, SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which lost 2.14% to settle at 119.840 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was down 1.46% to 20.930 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 443 to 211 and 93 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 11.14% to 15.72.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.46% or 7.25 to $1570.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.45% or 0.24 to hit $53.38 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.56% or 0.33 to trade at $58.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1013, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.8470.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 97.870.
