Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Chemicals and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.74% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 0.77%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.26%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 3.09% or 0.540 points to trade at 17.990 at the close. Meanwhile, Linde PLC (DE:LINI) added 2.05% or 3.400 points to end at 169.650 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) was up 1.72% or 0.250 points to 14.785 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p), which fell 0.80% or 0.76 points to trade at 94.24 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) declined 0.57% or 0.72 points to end at 125.22 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) was down 0.47% or 0.060 points to 12.705.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which rose 3.82% to 54.900, GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which was up 3.12% to settle at 27.120 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which gained 3.04% to close at 43.38.
The worst performers were Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) which was down 1.17% to 20.260 in late trade, Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which lost 1.09% to settle at 45.50 and Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which was down 1.09% to 49.700 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which rose 7.73% to 24.240, Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which was up 3.32% to settle at 10.2950 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which gained 3.09% to close at 17.990.
The worst performers were SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which was down 5.80% to 13.00 in late trade, RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which lost 2.92% to settle at 18.640 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which was down 0.99% to 50.150 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 477 to 202 and 81 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.01% to 15.74.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.14% or 2.05 to $1501.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.96% or 1.70 to hit $55.70 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.76% or 1.72 to trade at $60.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1008, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8938.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 98.640.
