Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Chemicals and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.70%, while the MDAX index added 0.32%, and the TecDAX index added 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG), which rose 4.16% or 0.580 points to trade at 14.515 at the close. Meanwhile, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) added 2.70% or 3.800 points to end at 144.500 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) was up 2.20% or 2.00 points to 92.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which fell 1.12% or 1.28 points to trade at 112.76 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) declined 0.71% or 0.200 points to end at 28.020 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) was down 0.70% or 0.290 points to 41.330.
The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which rose 2.85% to 55.540, Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was up 2.65% to settle at 25.520 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which gained 2.58% to close at 46.50.
The worst performers were Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which was down 3.31% to 39.49 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which lost 2.27% to settle at 19.760 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which was down 1.77% to 39.48 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which rose 3.22% to 46.840, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was up 2.70% to settle at 144.500 and Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which gained 2.65% to close at 25.520.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 9.86% to 23.400 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which lost 2.27% to settle at 19.760 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was down 1.40% to 45.100 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 444 to 240 and 74 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.44% to 18.02.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.49% or 7.35 to $1505.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.81% or 0.43 to hit $53.24 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.74% or 0.43 to trade at $58.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.0984, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8922.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 98.562.
