Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Media, Retail and Software sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.66% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 1.80%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.43%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which rose 3.85% or 4.25 points to trade at 114.75 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) added 3.29% or 6.60 points to end at 207.30 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was up 2.80% or 0.935 points to 34.340 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which fell 1.22% or 0.66 points to trade at 53.26 at the close. Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) declined 1.12% or 0.870 points to end at 76.980 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) was down 0.85% or 0.82 points to 95.26.

The top performers on the MDAX were CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which rose 5.30% to 52.060, Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which was up 4.11% to settle at 100.38 and Rational AG (DE:RAAG) which gained 4.09% to close at 689.60.

The worst performers were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was down 3.76% to 10.928 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which lost 1.06% to settle at 48.620 and Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which was down 0.65% to 70.180 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 5.94% to 22.46, LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which was up 5.32% to settle at 25.120 and New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which gained 5.19% to close at 233.00.

The worst performers were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 1.90% to 67.300 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which lost 1.06% to settle at 48.620 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 0.28% to 2.493 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 452 to 233 and 65 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.35% to 18.24 a new 52-week low.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.67% or 11.45 to $1727.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.72% or 1.02 to hit $60.18 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.35% or 0.85 to trade at $63.59 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.1771, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8508.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 92.953.
