Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Consumer & Cyclical and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.58%, while the MDAX index gained 0.40%, and the TecDAX index added 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG), which rose 1.91% or 2.10 points to trade at 112.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 1.87% or 8.20 points to end at 446.90 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) was up 1.75% or 0.64 points to 37.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which fell 1.08% or 0.45 points to trade at 41.25 at the close. Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) declined 0.85% or 0.44 points to end at 51.34 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was down 0.84% or 0.58 points to 68.10.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which rose 2.79% to 51.54, Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which was up 2.59% to settle at 19.80 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which gained 2.44% to close at 48.70.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 5.93% to 77.80 in late trade, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which lost 3.60% to settle at 47.68 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 2.80% to 44.13 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which rose 2.79% to 51.54, Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which was up 2.59% to settle at 19.80 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which gained 2.44% to close at 48.70.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 5.93% to 77.80 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which lost 1.23% to settle at 19.28 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was down 0.85% to 51.34 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 410 to 264 and 87 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.36% to 19.88.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.67% or 12.65 to $1,861.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.74% or 0.59 to hit $80.31 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.25 to trade at $86.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 103.28.
