Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Retail and Software sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.29%, while the MDAX index added 0.93%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.46%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 3.01% or 0.92 points to trade at 31.52 at the close. Meanwhile, Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) added 2.97% or 1.86 points to end at 64.40 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) was up 1.97% or 3.40 points to 175.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn), which fell 1.40% or 1.86 points to trade at 131.22 at the close. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 1.30% or 0.31 points to end at 23.49 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was down 1.11% or 0.55 points to 48.51.
The top performers on the MDAX were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which rose 5.43% to 20.18, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 4.04% to settle at 40.97 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which gained 3.92% to close at 70.20.
The worst performers were Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 3.23% to 5.70 in late trade, Deutsche Wohnen AG (ETR:DWNG) which lost 2.78% to settle at 20.62 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 1.76% to 2.30 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which rose 8.34% to 18.71, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was up 8.15% to settle at 63.05 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which gained 5.43% to close at 20.18.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 2.43% to 22.10 in late trade, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which lost 0.30% to settle at 19.41 and ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was up 0.26% to 18.95 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 391 to 274 and 95 ended unchanged.
Shares in Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.97% or 3.40 to 175.90. Shares in Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.23% or 0.19 to 5.70. Shares in SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 8.15% or 4.75 to 63.05.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.00% to 21.75.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.95% or 16.55 to $1,764.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.65% or 2.07 to hit $80.27 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.74% or 2.31 to trade at $86.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 106.88.
