Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Food & Beverages and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.27%, while the MDAX index added 0.30%, and the TecDAX index added 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG), which rose 11.55% or 3.78 points to trade at 36.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) added 5.70% or 6.05 points to end at 112.15 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) was up 3.49% or 1.45 points to 42.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn), which fell 5.60% or 0.57 points to trade at 9.55 at the close. Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) declined 2.80% or 1.50 points to end at 52.08 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) was down 2.75% or 1.90 points to 67.28.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which rose 5.39% to 111.45, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was up 4.57% to settle at 7.19 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 2.68% to close at 75.90.
The worst performers were Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which was down 8.22% to 270.20 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which lost 5.97% to settle at 66.95 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 4.73% to 11.08 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which rose 3.92% to 82.15, Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was up 3.49% to settle at 42.98 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 2.68% to close at 75.90.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 4.73% to 11.08 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which lost 2.80% to settle at 52.08 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 2.61% to 50.30 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 358 to 335 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) fell to 52-week lows; down 8.22% or 24.20 to 270.20. Shares in TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) fell to all time lows; falling 4.73% or 0.55 to 11.08. Shares in TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) fell to all time lows; losing 4.73% or 0.55 to 11.08.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.10% to 32.21 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.86% or 16.45 to $1,887.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.98% or 1.00 to hit $100.70 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.84 to trade at $103.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.53% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 102.88.
