(Reuters) - Germany's attractiveness as an investment location has fallen four places to 18th of 21 in a ranking of industrial economies by economic research institute ZEW, newspaper Augsburger Allgemeine reported on Monday.

Rising energy costs and ongoing labour shortages have compounded existing problems of high taxes, complex bureaucracy and slow pace of innovation, the study said, bumping Germany down the list with only Hungary, Spain and Italy below it.

The Mannheim-based institute ranked the United States, Canada, Sweden and Switzerland for reasons from cheaper energy in the U.S. and Sweden to access to capital and a well-functioning state in Switzerland.

Ken Roth  Maybe as it takes years to train in the tanks + there has been numerous accounts of German Tanks breaking down in war games recently (what happens if Germany does give a load of tanks and they all break break down in the middle of a battle). The BIGGEST issues though are that strong German support would be used by the Russians to promote their concept that this is a war against Nazi / Fascists + you also have strong German public opinion against getting involved to much on the 'offensive' military side which tanks are considered.

Russia would have not invaded Ukraine, without Germany's green light to do it. A quick and clean cut was promised by the Russians to their German counterparts, along with unimpeded free flow of cheap gas. But tables turned fast and now Russkies twist Germany's arm. Clear as daylight.

Peter ONeill the whole knows that germans are no longer nazis or fascists infact the russian have clearly taken over that title. There are no excuse for not giving the leopard tanks to ukraine, this is a well know tank in most of europe and ukrainians have proved themselves more than able to learn new equipment. So it is BS from the germans and playing the nazicard is an excuse promoted by pro russian infiltrators in germany. Who cares what they think in russia. Putin will say anything anyway to his people who suck it up

Peter ONeill total BS playing the nazi card there is no excuse for not delivering the leopard tanks the whole worlds knows that the russians are the fascists, to delay german action will make the world distrust the germans and wonder what relationship they have with putin we do not know about. Also ukrainians has already proven more than able to handle military equipment from other countries.
