Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher while losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.08%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.43%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 1.77% or 0.67 points to trade at 38.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) added 1.75% or 1.02 points to end at 59.24 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) was up 1.69% or 1.05 points to 63.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which fell 1.69% or 0.60 points to trade at 34.67 at the close. Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) declined 1.54% or 28.80 points to end at 1,845.60 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) was down 1.00% or 4.05 points to 400.35.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which rose 3.01% to 2.67, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was up 2.98% to settle at 5.54 and Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which gained 2.88% to close at 23.55.
The worst performers were ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which was down 4.44% to 8.08 in late trade, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which lost 4.43% to settle at 235.30 and Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 3.23% to 1.33 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 284 to 226 and 104 ended unchanged.
Shares in TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.69% or 1.05 to 63.04. Shares in ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.44% or 0.38 to 8.08. Shares in Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.88% or 0.66 to 23.55. Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) fell to all time lows; losing 3.23% or 0.05 to 1.33.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.06% or 1.25 to $1,952.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.59% or 0.53 to hit $91.11 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.45 to trade at $94.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.79.
