Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Financials, Gas & Water and Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 2.14% to hit a new 6-months low, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (EPA:ORAN), which rose 0.59% or 0.06 points to trade at 10.31 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) added 0.29% or 0.04 points to end at 13.84 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was up 0.11% or 0.06 points to 54.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which fell 8.97% or 2.15 points to trade at 21.83 at the close. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) declined 4.83% or 9.80 points to end at 193.30 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 4.54% or 0.95 points to 19.99.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ayvens SA (EPA:AYV) which rose 9.39% to 6.70, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was up 5.64% to settle at 3.93 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which gained 4.00% to close at 26.02.
The worst performers were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which was down 15.33% to 8.89 in late trade, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) which lost 8.97% to settle at 21.83 and SES (EPA:SESFd) which was down 8.21% to 4.59 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 335 to 144 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) fell to 3-years lows; falling 4.54% or 0.95 to 19.99. Shares in Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) fell to all time lows; losing 15.33% or 1.61 to 8.89.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.68% or 16.90 to $2,489.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.99% or 0.77 to hit $77.14 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.74% or 0.60 to trade at $80.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 104.13.
