Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.88% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.86%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale (PA:SOGN), which rose 0.11% or 0.06 points to trade at 48.52 at the close. Meanwhile, AXA SA (PA:AXAF) fell 0.02% or 0.01 points to end at 24.16 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was down 0.07% or 0.010 points to 14.305 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY), which fell 3.81% or 1.47 points to trade at 36.96 at the close. Atos SE (PA:ATOS) declined 3.78% or 4.75 points to end at 121.05 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) was down 3.71% or 8.40 points to 218.25.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which rose 3.66% to 19.68, Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which was up 1.71% to settle at 12.200 and Eurazeo (PA:EURA) which gained 0.35% to close at 65.98.
The worst performers were Eiffage (PA:FOUG) which was down 4.16% to 79.50 in late trade, Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) which lost 3.81% to settle at 36.96 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which was down 3.78% to 121.05 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 447 to 170 and 88 ended unchanged.
Shares in Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.71% or 0.205 to 12.200.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 17.93% to 17.48 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.26% or 3.27 to $1245.83 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.31% or 0.14 to hit $44.88 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.06 to trade at $47.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1427, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8798.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 95.43.
