Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.53%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (PA:SAF), which rose 1.30% or 0.98 points to trade at 76.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) added 1.01% or 0.50 points to end at 50.14 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) was up 0.89% or 0.125 points to 14.180 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which fell 2.80% or 1.87 points to trade at 65.00 at the close. Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) declined 2.13% or 0.49 points to end at 22.75 and Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) was down 1.93% or 0.74 points to 37.55.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Innate Pharma (PA:IPH) which rose 1.96% to 11.440, Safran SA (PA:SAF) which was up 1.30% to settle at 76.35 and Electricite de France SA (PA:EDF) which gained 1.16% to close at 8.95.
The worst performers were CNP Assurances (PA:CNPP) which was down 6.35% to 18.725 in late trade, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which lost 5.15% to settle at 5.823 and Casino Guichard (PA:CASP) which was down 4.83% to 52.21 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 422 to 186 and 91 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 7.32% to 16.63.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.45% or 5.68 to $1253.02 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.77% or 0.38 to hit $49.45 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.39 to trade at $52.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1128, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.8560.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 97.52.
